Mrs. Harvey F. Rice Mrs. Carrie M. Rice, 97, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Miss Mildred M.

Two Hurt In Bridge Accident Two persons were injured in an auto accident near the center of the Delaware Memorial Bridge that caused a 15-minute traffic slow-up about 11:30 yesterday morning.

Edward Hyett, 64, of Atlantic City, N.J., operator of one car, complained of neck pains following the mishap and was taken to Wilmington General Division for treatment and released. Mrs. Danuta Borowski, 45, of 1330 Riverside Drive, Kynlyn, a passenger in the other car involved, suffered lacerations of the face. She was admitted to the same hospital. Her condition today was reported fair.

Bohdan S. Borowski, 56, Mrs. Borowski's husband, driver of the other auto, was not injured, police said. According to Delaware River and Bay Authority Police, a section of one of the two westbound lanes was closed for cleaning and traffic had to be merged into a single lane at that area. The collision occurred while Hyett was attempting to get into the open lane and the other car approached it from the rear, police said.

G-Men Passersby Nip Holdup in Bud PITTSBURGH (P) It had all the story-book drama of the FBI in action. Two agents were cruising the neighborhood yesterday working on another case. They spotted two men walking into a bank. Sensing trouble, they went to investigate. They peeked into a bank window, they said, and found the place was being robbed.

Agents Lawrence Bria and Roland Purnell decided to wait and grab the bandits coming out of the bank. Purnell crouched around a corner. Bria sat in the car in front of the bank. One of the bandits spotted Bria in the car and ordered him into the bank, apparently not knowing who he was talking to. INSIDE the Hill Top branch of the Western Pennsylvania National Bank, the bandits were stuffing money into a shopping bag.

Then they walked outside. Purnell yelled to them to surrender. The FBI said one of the men wheeled around and fired at the agent with a sawed-off rifle. He missed. Purnell fired back-once.

Koenig, 34, of Miami, Koenig crumpled to the pavement. Bria had followed the pair out of the bank. As the gunfire erupted, Bria jumped at the other man, 1 identified as Joseph H. Brown, 31, of New York City. They struggled, then retired Pittsburgh Policeman Edward Kuss jumped into the fight.

Bria and Kuss subdued Brown and said they took a gun from him. THE bank said it recovered all of the money, $37,245. Koenig was taken to South Side Hospital in serious condition. Brown required minor hospital treatment. The FBI said Koenig and Brown will be charged with bank robbery and assaulting a federal officer.

Probationer Proves He Worked A Wilmington man charged with probation violation for re, fusing to work steadily received a continuance of his probation yesterday after producing pay envelopes from a job. Adams had been placed on a year's probation on a numbers writing involvement charge, with a suspended six-month jail term. Probation officers recently cited him for refusal to get a steady job. Valenti had claimed he was unable to work steadily because of chronic ailments. Yesterday Valenti's lawyer, Emmett J. Conte submitted three pay envelopes from a Wilmington restaurant to Judge William T.

Quillen. He said Valenti has been employed at the restaurant as a bartender for three weeks. Quillen said the court had been suspicious of Valenti's acbecause it appeared that he had been "sitting out" his year of probation. What you have done, he told Valenti, has been to prove you can get a job and work. As a condition of probation, Valenti must make weekly reports to his probation officer on the status of his employment, Quillen ordered.

Union Rejected At Allied Kid A vote among employes of the Allied 1 Kid Standard Division at 704 W. 4th yesterday resulted in a rejection of union representation. According to a report from Robert S. Hodavance of the National Labor Relations Board, the vote yesterday was 105 against union representation; 47 in favor, and four votes challenged. The union involved here is the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workers of North America, AFL-CIO.
