Services are 2 p.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral Cremation Center, Moline, with the Rev.

Mr. Bloom was born Nov. 9, 1917, East Moline, son of Walter and Mamie Graham Bloom. He married Desyl Swanson on June 21, 1941, in Andover. He served in the U.S.

Army in both the European and Pacific theaters during World War II. He was employed as a sheet-metal worker at Cartridge Pack, Davenport, retiring in 1979. He previously worked for Ametek. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island, Ageless Achievers of the church, Moline Viking Lodge and Moline American Legion Post 246.

He enjoyed golf and bowling. Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Desyl; two sisters, Bertha Stanley, Cordova, and Dorothy Gardner, Oregon; a brother two sisters-in-law, Richard and April Bloom, Missouri, and Grace Bloom, New Windsor; and many nieces and nephews, including Wayne and Kathy Swanson, Lynn Center, Everett and Dorothy Swanson, Moline, Don and Barbara Youngberg, Moline, and Janet Hansen, California. She retired from the East Moline School District after 36 years of teaching in area schools. Margo enjoyed reading, writing and listening to and teaching music. She and her husband owned and operated Johnson Golf Course Construction Inc. She was very outgoing, always ready to lend a helping hand. She loved playing sports, traveling and gardening. She was very involved with her daughter's activities. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
