Successful human resources professionals know that having the right benefits broker can benefit the HR department, and the entire company, in so many ways! HR and business leaders should look for a benefits broker who takes the time to listen to and examine their needs, as well as the needs of their employees, before rushing in with recommendations. In addition, benefits brokers who have experience helping design plans for your specific industry are helpful, as there are specific trends within industries and business sectors to consider. - Niki Ramirez, MBA, SHRM-CP, THRPFollow the link for more tips for your decision-making process:https://lnkd.in/e9ebNHne#HRAnswers #SmallBusiness #EmployeeBenefits

Employee performance reviews are the most common way managers communicate to employees about their work progress and whether they have met their expectations over the performance period. The performance period is often a year, but even better, it can be semi-annual (better) or quarterly (best) to keep employees informed on their performance and progress. Keep in mind that performance reviews are simply documents that are used to recap performance over a timeframe. They create structure around various programs, goals, and workplace expectations. Key Concept: A performance review will not encourage your employee to “do better.” You will use leadership, management, and coaching techniques to help your employees reach their full potential! Here are 5 tips to help with your next employee eval. ✨ #HRAnswers #SmallBusiness #PerformanceReviews #Leadership #Coaching

Stigma around tattoos at work has shifted — but some bias still remains.Niki Ramirez, MBA, SHRM-CP, THRP, founder and principal consultant at HR Answers, a human resources consultancy for small businesses, has consulted clients who still believe tattoos have no place in the workplace, and may have discriminated against candidates with them. Some organizations and industries may have more formal dress codes, though ultimately, tattoos aren’t a protected class under hiring discrimination laws in the U.S. or the U.K. Niki uses those client questions as an opportunity to inform them on how this fits into recent diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and how it could negatively impact their business if they aren’t willing to change their own tune. This WorkLife article, where Niki is featured by Hailey Mensik, explores ideas and research on the topic. What are your thoughts on tattoos in the workplace? Check out the article and share your thoughts in the comments. We'd love to hear them!https://lnkd.in/eVn6M8RK#HRAnswers #SmallBusiness #DEI #Hiring
