Spinoff from a fun thread about washing water bottles.
Fun task: after posting, look up the CDCs recommendations on Use & Handling of Toothbrushes

I just get a new one. I remember when I was a kid my dad used to make us boil our toothbrushes to clean them and I was always so confused like…why not just throw it away lol.

I only wash mine once I've cleaned the toilet with it. Then, I rinse it a little longer than usual, and continue using it on my teeth.

@BilboSwaggins,
Definitely rinse it little longer. You can't be too safe!

Depending on the condition I either boil it or get a new one.

Soak in Listerine (original) for a few minutes nightly. Toss and get a new one every 3-4 months. The CDC doesn't sway my opinion on my dental health, my dentist does and the ADA does state that sanitizing does reduce the bacteria.

We don’t do anything special to clean the toothbrushes we use in our home. Just rinse with water after use and let air dry until next use.
My husband and I use electric toothbrushes. My husband is on top of changing out brush heads ever couple of months.

I have Invisalign. I’m brushing my teeth multiple times a day. I replace my toothbrush every 3-4 days. Prior to Invisalign, it was replaced 2-3 times a month.
In between brushing, we have those those sanitizer brush holders.
I’ve always been very “extra” about my tooth brush. I can’t think about it much or else I’d be tossing it after every use. It just grosses me out. It’s a similar reason as to why I don’t chew gum.
